This is America, 2018 (Day 478)

This is America. 

You can’t shoot people 

for doing drugs. You can 

put them in jail. But you can’t 

kill them. Unless they’re black—

especially if they are 

black men—then, go ahead 

and shoot. If they are

disabled, go ahead

and mock them. If they are

women, go ahead 

and assault them. If they are

different—in terms of 

age 

or size 

or color 

or gender 

or sexuality 

or spirituality

or even the amount 

of money in their piggy 

banks? Yep. 

Go ahead and shoot 

after all. This is America. 

We can’t shoot people

for doing drugs. We can

put them in jail, so we are 

no longer forced to look 

into the mirrors of their eyes.
