In the old days sunburnt
large-knuckled powerful
he slowed down so
pale and thin
she bowed her head
her mouth
smiled at the corners
they walked easy together
swinging out of the corner
of his eye and the sun
sparkled like music on her
gilded lashes
she tossed her hand
toward his
fingers intertwining naturally
as breathing shining again
as they once had
