An ending is beginning
its dolorous embrace
comforting protecting
draped shoulder to shoulder
like a sun-warmed blanket
stronger where
measures were taken
to repair a barely audible
hiss just a touch
too loud it has been silenced
and we have
no need now no interest
in keeping the whole
world awake
