Like a Whisper (Poem 282)

pressed between
the pages skid and stutter
and promise another
suggestion

a fountain of late summer
like a snowstorm on
the driveway of short heavy
nights like a whisper

words wrinkle the crisp
sheets of dust
motes in miles of slanting
clarity pressed petal-like
between pages the lyrical
a whisper
just words
